새로운 회사에서의 시작 그리고 첫 공휴일

오늘은 광복절이다. 이직 이후 첫 공휴일을 맞이한다. 예전 직장에 다닐 때면 그냥 집에서 쉬며 유튜브나 인스타그램을 보며 시간을 보냈을텐데 나름 각오를 하고 이직을 해서 그런걸까 공휴일에 집에만 있는 시간이 아깝다는 생각이 든다.

Today is a holiday called '광복절.' It's the first holiday since I changed jobs. When I was at my last job, I used to stay home and just take naps or watch YouTube, but since I prepared to change jobs, I started thinking that staying at home was a waste of time.

 

오늘은 오전에 정은 형님과 함께 테니스를 쳤다. 처음 테니스를 시작했을 때는 정말 수준 차이가 심해서 미안한 마음이 들었는데 어느새 형님도 땀을 흘릴 만큼 잘 칠 수 있게 되었다.

I played tennis with a brother named '정은' this morning. The first time we played tennis, there was a big difference in skill level, so I felt sorry for him. But nowadays, I can make him sweat.

 

확실히 뭐든 꾸준히 하는 것이 중요하다는 생각이 든다. 테니스를 마치고 집에서 피자를 시켜먹었다. 최대한 절약하려고 노력중인데 마음처럼 쉽지 않다. 음식이 주는 유혹이 너무 달콤하다.

Anyway, it's very important to do something. After tennis, I ordered a pizza at home. I’ve recently been trying to save on electricity, but it’s not as easy as I thought. The temptation of food is very strong.

 

식사 이후에 카페에서 영어공부도 좀 하고 유튜브좀 보다 집에 와서 해리포터를 봤다. 사람들은 재밌다고 하는데, 개인적으로 그렇게까지 재밌는 줄은 모르겠다.

In the afternoon, I studied English and watched YouTube at a café. Oh, I watched the movie 'Harry Potter.' People say it's fun, but I don't think so personally.

 

지금은 한엽이 여자친구 분이 오픈한 카페에 와서 일기를 쓰는 중이다. 한엽이 곧 온다고 했는데 아직도 안 왔다. 24년의 광복절, 나름 알차게 보내는 중이다.

Now, I'm writing my diary at a cafe that my friend's girlfriend opened. My friend told me he's coming soon, but he hasn't arrived yet. Today is August 15th 2024, and I'm having a good time as well.
